What you take away

By the end of this class, you know how to…

  1. 1

Write a real letter in one request your profile, the facts with exact dates, the shape, and the sentence that matters: invent nothing.

  2. 2

Change the tone with one line firmer, less cold, shorter, without touching the facts.

  3. 3

Read it before you send it and ask the AI what it added that you never told it.

The live demo

Mutu's letter to his landlord

Mutu Mosi, 34, a cook in Bandal, Kinshasa. Since the rain of September 19, the roof has been leaking over his son's room. He told the landlord in person on the 21st, then by text on the 28th. Nobody came. Angel pasted his profile into Gemini, then one request: the facts, the dates, one page, "do not cite any law, do not invent any information".

  1. 1

    Too polite

The first letter was right, but so polite it could be set aside. One line: "Firmer. Ask for the repair to be done before Friday, October 9, and say that I am keeping a copy of this letter."

  2. 2

    Too cold

The firm version read almost like a legal warning, sent to a landlord who may not renew the lease. One more line: "A bit too cold. Keep it firm, but mention that we have been tenants for three years and have always paid the rent on time."

  3. 3

    Firm, and still respectful

The same facts, the same dates, and a tone Mutu can sign. Three requests in all, and Angel's lesson: with a profile that says more about how he speaks, one would have been enough.

What the AI added on its own

Correction, October 5. We first wrote here that Gemini invented the line about handing the letter over in person. Watching the video again, that was wrong: Angel's request asked for a letter to hand over in person. We had not checked the source. What Gemini really added: “the heavy rain”, where Mutu wrote “the rain”, and a compliment to the landlord about his care for good work, which Mutu never said. AI does not lie: it predicts, and it fills gaps with the same confidence as a fact. That is why we read it. Us too.

Your turn

Take the letter you keep putting off. Your profile, the facts with the dates, one line for the shape. Then, before you read it, ask: "What did you add that I did not tell you?"

Before you practise

Three things to have at hand

If you are watching the video instead of the live class, get these ready first.

1

Your profile

No profile yet? The Session 2 page shows you how to write it and save it in your assistant, in ten minutes.

2

A real letter in mind

To a landlord, a school, an employer, an office. Write down the facts and exact dates, not the text: the AI writes the text.

3

A new chat

Any assistant: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot or Grok. Everything we teach works the same way.

This week's homework · October 4 to 10

Send one real letter written with AI

Not an exercise: the letter or message you keep putting off. Your profile, the facts, one line for the shape. And before you send it, this question:

Reread your letter. Tell me everything you added that I did not tell you.

  1. 1

Write it in one request, with 3.1. If the tone is off, one line is enough: 3.2.

  2. 2

Ask the question above. Remove everything you never said, without touching the facts.

  3. 3

Read it out loud, then send it. To go further, create a project in your assistant, as Angel showed in the English class.

The rule for official documents

Immigration, court, medical: AI is very good at helping you understand the letter you received. But the official reply, or the official translation, takes a lawyer or a certified translator.

You are the one who signs the letter.

After class

The videos

Two classes on the same Saturday, one in French and one in English, each with its highlights and the full class. The examples are not the same, so watch both if you can.

The English class, 11:00

Highlights, in English

13 min

Mosungi, Mutu's letter in English, never for immigration, the context window, skills and projects.

Chapters

Open on YouTube

The full class, in English

43 min

The whole English class: the letter, the context window and how to compact it, skills, projects, and questions from the room.

Chapters

Open on YouTube

The French class, 10:00

Highlights, in French

16 min

Mutu's letter, one line that changes the tone, what the AI added on its own, and Alain's and Guy's questions.

Chapters

Open on YouTube

The full class, in French

60 min

The whole French class, questions included, with Blanche's story. Only the dead time was cut.

Chapters

Open on YouTube

All four videos are unlisted on YouTube: anyone with the link can watch, but they do not show up in searches. Personal screens are blurred, a few unverified remarks were cut, and a correction was added on screen about the electricity used by data centres.

What was taught

Session 3 in five ideas

  1. 1

    A system, not a task

Asking the same thing again is using AI the hard way. With a saved profile and clear context, you never explain yourself twice. And every repetition costs tokens.

  2. 2

The whole request, in one go

Your profile is lines 1 and 2. You write the facts with exact dates, the shape (language, tone, one page), and one sentence: do not cite any law, do not invent any date or fact.

  3. 3

    One line changes the tone

Too polite, too firm, too cold: you do not start over. One line is enough, and you remind it that the facts do not move.

  4. 4

What you do not give it, it guesses

AI does not lie, it predicts. When a detail is missing, it fills the gap with the same confidence as a fact. Read it, and ask it what it added.

  5. 5

Official documents stay in your hands

Immigration, court, medical: AI helps you understand. The official version takes a lawyer or a certified translator.

"It's important to pay attention and to read before accepting what your AI writes."
Angel Mukadi, during the English class, October 3, 2026.

The sentence to keep

Your profile plus one line gives you a letter. But you only send it after you have read it.

And before you read it, one question for the AI: what did you add that I did not tell you?

Next Saturday
